How I Work
My reasons for becoming a financial professional are a combination of opportunity and fate. My love of history and my desire to make a positive difference in people's lives made it an interesting and rewarding career choice. Each day brings new challenges and tasks. I am confident that my education in history, coupled with my training as a financial professional, have prepared me to deal with the challenges that are present every day. After 39 years in the business, I am confident I have developed a reputation for helping people grasp various financial concepts and use them to pursue their specific financial objectives. I look forward to going to work every day!
A team approach adds perspective to all I do and provides increased benefits to my clients.
Meet the Team
Jeffrey D. Murray
Owner/President
As the President of Jeffrey D. Murray & Co., my primary responsibilities revolve around serving as a Financial Professional and Registered Investment Advisor Representative. I have a deep passion for identifying quality money managers in the world and providing my clients with opportunities to hire them based on their unique needs and risk tolerances. With over 39 years in the financial services industry, my career journey has included roles at A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc., and Benjamin F. Edwards & Co. My credentials include Series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses, alongside life insurance, health insurance, and annuities licenses. I hold a BA in History from Virginia Tech, obtained in 1986.
What I love most about my role is helping clients pursue their financial goals and building lasting relationships based on loyalty and trust. Many of my clients have become close friends, leading to intergenerational connections that I cherish. The gratitude clients express for my role in their financial lives is truly rewarding. I am committed to prioritizing clients' needs, believing that doing what's right for them ultimately leads to shared success. Honesty, competence, and exceeding realistic expectations are at the core of my practice.
Originally from a small town in Southwest Virginia, I now call Orlando, Florida, home. Outside the office, I spent 8 years coaching little league baseball and took 4 different teams to the Virginia state championship tournaments. I am a proud Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary International and served as past-president of the Tazewell Rotary Club. I also served my community as a member of the Tazewell Town Council for 8 years. For many years I was treasurer of the Tazewell Presbyterian Church and chairman of the finance committee. As a devout Protestant Christian, my faith is central to my life, and I read the Bible daily. In my leisure time, I indulge in my passions for golf and jazz drumming, while also learning piano and guitar. Living at Rio Pinar Golf Club on the 17th hole allows me to embrace my love for golf in the beautiful Florida weather. It also allows me to live 30 minutes from my two sons, who also reside in Orlando.
